Valentine’s day is just around the corner!
As one of the biggest “date nights” of the year, I think that all of us girls
think of it as a great opportunity to try out that sultry or sexy
makeup look.
Then again, what day isn’t good for trying a new look? Today’s look is about a more subtle
approach to a Valentine face. A bold red lip and winged eye is definitely a
classic and reliable look for all of us, but I wanted to go with something
a little different this year. I love both styles, but I wanted to focus more on
the eyes and have a gentle mauve lip to compliment it.
This look is great for playing up features like the lips and nose subtly while
making sure they really help to make your eyes POP!
I will show you how I got this look as well as what products I used
to create it!
First off is the eyes, of course! This look was created purely with the
Urban Decay Naked 3 Palette.
Yes, I jumped on the bandwagon and I’m so happy that I did.
These rosy and metallic tones work so well with all eye colors and
skin tones, so it is an investment that every eyeshadow girl
should make!
Shades and Placement:
Nooner – Buffed into the crease and blended outward across the lid.
Liar – Used on top of Nooner across the lid
Buzz – Dotted in the center of the eyelid to add more depth
Blackheart – Used in the outer corners of the eyes and blended upward
into the crease and toward the lid of the eye, only slightly!
Factory – Swept across the bottom of the eye on the outer edge
Buzz – Blended from Factory on the bottom past the middle of the bottom eyelid
Dust – Used on the tear ducts and blended upward
Strange – Used as a highlighter under the brow
Ta-da!
For contouring, I used the chiaroscuro contouring stick from em cosmetics.
This is the best contouring tool I’ve found, it’s creamy and glides right on.
Plus it comes with a highlighter as well, which I used on the bridge of my nose
and up the sides of my cheeks under my eyes!
Lipstick is from Lancome in the shade Delicate Orchid.
My brows are done with Dipbrow Pomade from Anastasia Beverly Hills
in the shade Blonde. (I know, I’m not blonde, but the hair on my
brows/arms/legs has always been very fair!).
I also used Maybelline mascara, but I forgot what the name of it is..

I also added soft waves to my hair to compliment the sultry look, and I
used a straightening iron to achieve a more
soft and bouncy curl.
Wishing you all a lovely, happy, sexy(?),
whatever kind of Valentine’s Day you’re hoping for!
I’ll see you soon ♥

This whole look is actually gorgeous! I haven’t invested in the palette yet because I don’t need another neutral palette. But now I’m tempted!
And I’ve been wanting to try the pomade, too. 🙂

I was on the fence about it for a long time as well, but I really can’t get enough of it. The pomade has become something I use every day, even if I don’t put foundation or anything else on. It is creamy and wonderful and I just love it. Can’t say enough good things about it. ♥

I’ll definitely have to try it, then! 🙂
By the way, I nominated you for a Liebster award! x
